Concrete Coating Floor Care
Congratulations on your beautiful new garage floor! Now that your floor is complete, here are some helpful tips to keep your investment looking new:
• Do not drive on your floor for at least 24 hours. Doing so will likely cause damage to your new floor. The clear top coat should be cured fully in 24 hours.
Do not move anything in or place anything on the floor for at least the minimum 24 hours.
• You may walk on the floor in as little as 3 hours after the installation is complete but please check it first. Use your hand to feel for stickiness on various locations of the floor. If there is no stickiness, it’s safe to walk on the floor. Walking on the floor before it’s cured could cause visual damage, so please exercise caution.
If you have any doubts let the floor cure overnight and then check again in the morning.
• Always carry items across the floor rather than drag them. Dragging heavy or sharp objects across the floor can scratch the floor. Scratches catch dirt and cause the floor to dull more quickly. Use squeegees or mops to clean the floor rather than ridged objects such as metal shovels.
• Polyurea flooring is stronger and more durable than typical flooring systems.
Polyurea floors are non-porous, which keeps most contaminants from penetrating and makes the floor relatively easy to clean. Any standing water left on the floor can become a slip hazard. If any water remains in the garage, squeegee the floor to get rid of any standing water.
• Spills of any kind should be cleaned immediately. We recommend warm water or water with a few drops of Blue Dawn Dishwashing Detergent. If cleaned up immediately, your floor will resistant harsh chemicals.
Some corrosive chemicals may permanently stain the coating if not cleaned up in a reasonable time period including petroleum based products (asphalt, gasoline, tire leaching). Staining will not impact flooring integrity.
• A build up of street oils/grease or other materials may occur. Regular cleaning (at least once every 3 months) is recommended.
• If you have your car detailed often and have the tires sprayed they may leach.
• New high performance tires may leach
